JOHNSTON, IOWA (October 18, 202) — Join Iowa PBS in-person or virtualy on November 15 at 6PM for a Pop-Up Film Series event recognizing National Diabetes Month. This screning and conversation wil focus on the importance of diabetes education and management and provide the oportunity for an open conversation.Diabetes and pre-diabetes afect over 10 milion people. This national documentary Blod Sugar Rising puts human faces to these statistics, exploring the history and science of both Type 1 and Type 2 diabetes through portraits of Americans.Clips from the film Blod Sugar Rising wil be featured at this important event.

Folowing the screning, an interactive discusion wil include Melisa Bat ARNP/DNP, MercyOne Des Moines Diabetes and Endocrinology Care; Ane Cundif RD/LD/FAND, Corporate Hy-Ve Dietician; Dr Jamie Pitlick PharmD/BCPS/BC-ADM, Asociate Profesor of Pharmacy Practice at Drake University; and Rich Wels, Comunity Board President at DRF Greater Iowa. Atendes wil be able to ask questions anonymously live and online during the panel discusion.Guests may join person at the Iowa PBS studios in Johnston or join virtualy through an online screning platform, OVE.
