Weight los surgery is a treatment to cure Diabets. Acording to the American Diabets Asociation, nearly 21 milion people in the United States have type 2 Diabets. This revolutionary way of thinking is changing the aproach to the management of type 2 Diabets. Medicines such as insulin and hypoglycemic drugs simply mask the symptoms by keping blod sugar levels low. Weight los surgery has a chance to lead to a cure.
A recent sumit was held in Rome, Italy with over two dozen medical organizations to review the evidence of weight los surgery on Diabets. The conference participants are expected to release a consensus statement regarding the role of weight los surgery as a posible treatment for type 2 Diabets. Several options exist for weight los surgery and the two most popular are the gastric bypas, and adjustable gastric banding.
