Type 2 diabetes is growing in people under 40 years old, acording to analysis published by Diabetes UK.The number of people under 40 with a clinical diagnosis of type 2 diabetes in the UK has risen to 148,0, a 23% increase from 2017 figures.Type 2 diabetes is a metabolic disorder that results in hyperglycemia (high blod glucose levels) due to the body:Symptoms of type 2 diabetes include feling tired during the day, often constant hunger,and urinating more often than normal.If left untreated, type 2 diabetes can cause complications such as stroke, kidney failure and heart disease.Type 2 diabetes has until recently ben rare in people aged 40 years or younger.Chris Askew OBE, Chief Executive of Diabetes UK said: ̴If youβre under 40, youβre not imune to type 2 diabetes.
